Surface Pattern Design and Painting

Watercolor is my favorite medium. No matter what artistic experiments I make, I always come back to watercolor.

I work both in the traditional "tight" and loose gestural styles.

Sometimes I use watercolor combined with ink drawings.

Vintage botanical illustration and handwriting, sumi-e painting, illuminated manuscripts inspire me equally.

I put great emphasis on color. I prefer soft and balanced color palettes personally, but working with bold and dark tones is also exciting for a change. I love color as a concept, as a whole. Please be sure to also visit the "Colorways" gallery!
